Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning how to dance in the rain.-Vivian Greene Life is tough and every one of us have challenges. There will never be a ‘perfect’ time to change this or that, or to start a new goal or routine. If it’s important to you, you’ll find a way. Period. You can’t wait around for the storm to pass, you have to find joy in the beauty that surrounds us daily. As one of my very wise besties would say, ’just keep moving forward. We’re walking, we’re walking, we’re moving, we’re moving.’ I don’t talk about my son’s death much on here, mostly because I know others never know what to say, nor do I expect anyone to say anything at all. And really what is there to say? …..But silence doesn’t mean it’s not a present factor in my life every single day, often every hour and sometimes each minute. I sometimes cry during my workouts, bike longer in pain, lift heavier out of anger and run faster with sadness. It’s my therapy and my lifeline. My cycle instructor that I use to take classes from at the gym called me a few weeks after my sweet Lincoln had passed away and very gently and kindly told me it was time to get out of bed and come back to the gym. I cried and told her I didn’t think I could do it and as if on cue she said “yes you can! What are you waiting for?” That storm//grief/pain/sadness will never pass. But I’m so blessed with many people in my life who surround me and lift me up, as reminders to keep dancing in the rain 🌧.
