It’s race week!! 🏼‍♀️🚴🏼‍♀️🏼‍♀️… no, not really. But I sure wish it was. And it WOULD have been, so I’m going to be sad for a moment #oceanside703 , and reminisce about last season. The minutes before the start of an event are always the worst for me! I feel like I might throw up from nerves and anticipation, and there’s just a smidge of doubt that creeps in- the little “what ifs…”, and the knowledge of what is ahead. But once I get going, and I’m on the course, my entire mental game changes and I love (almost) every minute of it. I love the energy in the air, the feel of my heart racing, and the high-fives from so many incredible athletes. I feel alive. And am so inspired but those around me (and passing me ) And I remember why I love this sport. I always tell Shane that I’m retiring after ‘this’ race. He calmly says “ok we can just sell your bike”. But I don’t quit. Because deep down I love every part of it. And if I don’t race at all this season (please say it isn’t true!!) I would continue to do it all anyway. ️
