Today I completed a Vo2max test. It was really fascinating and I hope to be able to use the information to be more efficient in my #ironmantraining . # VO2 max is a measure of the maximum volume of oxygen that can be used. It is measured in millilitres per kilogramme of body weight per minute (ml/kg/min) so the level of oxygen consumption is called the VO2 max (volume of oxygen). This test pinpoints exact cardio fitness levels and fat burning zones. # My score came back in the superior level for a teenager which means I have the heart and lungs of a 16 year old. ?Awesome!!! Suddenly turning 40 doesn’t seem so bad!!! But in all seriousness, I feel extremely grateful and SOooo blessed to have good health. I try and never take that for granted. # I struggle with my body image and the way I look after birthing 4 little humans just as much as any other woman. Even today after the test, while watching the video I commented on how my stomach pooches out when I run. Shane quickly reminded me that my heart and lungs are strong and of course I will have warrior scars from growing 4 children inside of me. Good point. Then a friend, who has recently undergone extensive treatment for cancer commented on being jealous of my healthy lungs and heart. That shut me up fast. I am absolutely grateful for my health and who cares if my stomach isn’t perfectly flat and my biceps aren’t as defined as some. It’s all in the perspective. Look at all the things my body CAN do!!!! Take care of your body, be grateful for your health, and work on loving yourself no matter what warrior scars and imperfections you have. @dexafit_seattle thank you for such a great experience!!!
